Manufacturing Process for Round Bars

The round bars are made from ingots and are processed after giving required reduction ratio and discarding hot top and bottom for homogeneity. They are either processed by hot rolling or hot forging. These bars are further heat treated by :

  • Annealing
  • Normalizing
  • Stress Relieving
  • Quenching and Tempering
  • Spheroidizing Annealing
They are also offered in bright condition by
  • Peeling and Reeling (for upto 120mm for rolled)
  • Cold drawing (for upto 65mm)
  • Proof machining (greater than 120mm)
  • Finish CNC machining

Quality Check of Round Bars

Following checks are conducted in round bars and reported in the TEST CERTIFICATE as per customer requirement

  • Surface inspection (Magnetic Particle Inspection) is carried out of each bar end to end
  • Positive Material Identification using XRF to certify in process chemistry of each bar
  • 100%-dimensional verification using calibrated Vernier’s and Go No-Go gauges
  • Step down testing
  • Upset forging test
  • NMIR (Nonmetallic inclusion rating)
  • Macrostructure testing
  • Microstructure phase analysis
  • Grain Size
  • Ultrasonic Testing for internal defects
  • Radioactivity test
  • Gas analysis (O, N, H)

Minimum Order Quantity for Round Bars

Our batch size is a minimum of 8.5MT, so for common grades, we can do two nearby sizes in a total of 8.5MT, and in case of special grades, we require a single size minimum of 8.5MT.
